Neil was approached to create a one-of-a-kind pencil portrait, taken from several photos. The son wanted to surprise his elderly parents. When his parents were first married, they didn't have a lot of money, so they never had a decent wedding photo taken. Neil took separate photos of them and sketched them nestled together, as husband and wife. Neil and client, collaborating together, created a wedding "dream portrait"  The parents were surprised and emotional on their anniversary. And, as a bonus, their hearts were forever relieved of that regret of "never getting that cherished photo". The parents were very moved by this loving gesture of their children. They did good!

Neil Shaw accepts both pencil and oil portrait commissions. The client and he commonly consult over the phone. The client typically e-mails the photos and Neil provides them with a rough draft. Once the draft is approved, Neil continues with the pencil or oil portrait, while keeping in touch with the client, sending them periodic photo updates The end result is often astonishing (see testimonies). Neil then ships the portrait to his client.

Once Neil is finished with your portrait, he can digitally capture and archive the image for Giclee prints. Then, archival fine art prints can be mailed to friends and family as gifts for any occasion. Neil Shaw will send out these prints with a personal note from you. All prints are signed by Neil, complete with a signed certificate of authenticity.
