Shaw trained at the FBI Academy, in Quantico, Virginia and at the Scottsdale Artist
School, in the field of Forensic Facial Imaging. Aside from honing his composite drawing skills, the FBI trained him in forensic
sculpture; sculpting clay over human skull remains in order to show how the victim may have looked in life.
