One of Neil Shaw's favorite things do to is to take several photos and create one, unique portrait.
Neil Shaw, now living in Redding, California, has a great sense of pride in our military. Coming from law enforcement,
and being from a law enforcement family, Neil has a deep understanding of the words "Duty" and "Honor".
Neil considers it a privilege to be able to create military pencil sketches and oil portraits for military
personnel and their families. Artist, Neil Shaw prides himself on providing excellent customer service and will not settle
until the client gets exactly what they want.
Shaw is also an accomplished police sketch (forensic) artist, where
he hand-drew sketches of suspects...the old fashioned way, not with transparent overlays or computer programs. It was this
training, listening to what the "client" was telling him, that allowed the witness to get exactly the face
and "look" they saw on the crime scene. This training proved to be invaluable in listening and imagining what a
portrait client wants in their portrait. Neil Shaw accepts both pencil and oil portrait
commissions. The client and he commonly consult over the phone. The client typically e-mails the photos and Neil provides
them with a rough draft. Once the draft is approved, Neil continues with the pencil or oil portrait, while keeping in touch
with the client, sending them periodic photo updates The end result is often astonishing (see testimonies). Neil then ships the portrait to his client.
He
also provides fine art Giclee prints of the original, so friends and relatives may have a
beautiful print for their wall or office. Neil's clients often order these prints as gifts for Christmas, Birthdays, Valentine's
Day, the list goes on.
Neil Shaw has also been commissioned to draw a series of military portraits for The Stokes
Collection aviation art gallery, in Carmel, California. Neil has painted and drawn portraits from Army Generals to Navy fliers.
