Neil consults with the client to create a taylor-made
portrait to their total satisfaction. Neil often begins with consulting by phone with the client. The client e-mails
an assortment of photos to him and he creates a one-of-a-kind portrait. Periodic e-mail picture updates give
the client ultimate input. The result is a beatiful portrait and a very happy client. It's that simple.
Neil's Experience Among other commissions, Shaw has been commissioned to draw a series of
fine pencil portraits for The Stokes Collection art gallery in Carmel, California. Neil Shaw is an accomplished portrait artist. His
years of skilled police sketch artistry and fine portraiture have trained him to pay special attention to facial features,
expressions and the individual muscles that ever-so-subtly broadcast a persons mood. According to Shaw, some crime witnesses could
not fully recognize the person in the sketch until a certain point was reached; the point at which the suspect's
exact mood (angry, arrogant, "friendly"...) was captured with the pencil.
Now that Shaw is doing his own art full-time,
he is especially focused on creating well thought-out and beautiful works of art and portraiture.
Shaw, when doing portraits from old photos, often
takes the best features from each photo, making the portrait stand on its own.
